it’s not enough to understand your role and your rights in your society

you also need to understand that everyone else has the same rights

and act oblivious to our differences and just notice them as just normal variation within our species

nothing to judge or be offended by

people who they are by the particulars of their birth circumstances

and they become what they are based on their experience in the world

and not everyone has had a good experience – and that’s usually what they reflect back in the world – by playing small and mean to everyone they think had it easier than them or small and mean to anyone that they think they can get away with as if it’s their cosmic payback bonus for the crap that the universe heaped on them.

and no one seems to realize that if you claim you are a loving person because you are this or that religion, or that you are a moral person because you believe this religion or that philosophy – but you do not act with love in the world

then all you are really saying is that you are a small mean person who doesn’t have any of the goodness they claim to have by association with a larger group who claims to be a force of love in the universe.

because, as a person who doesn’t subscribe to any religion of philosophy, because being invented collectively by humans means that they are flawed and imperfect and corrupted by greed and personal agendas.

because the only thing that you can get behind in pure theory, untainted by any consideration than the quest for knowledge – is the study of nature – aka science

and yes, science has allowed bad things to happen – because all technological advances since we first learned to chip rocks to make an edge or a point or rub two sticks together to make a fire or containers to hold and store food and water, to build shelters – is all down to the efforts of humanity – all humanity.

So all of the good and all of the bad that is going on in the world is not the fault of the gods of any religion.

Because there are no gods – there are only people who invented religion and philosophy and politics and economics – all complex social systems with their own sub cultures and power structures.

God is just the grown up version of Santa and the Boogeyman rolled into one absolutist punishment and reward system to keep those in line who may not be trusted to rule themselves.
